Mirlo: Above the Sun is inspired by the traditional Japanese role-playing game Hyaku-en, which is meant to be played in one sitting or ‘pass-time’. The Pass-time level offered to the players is meant to be a playground for the player to do what they want with their time when they are just spending their time, whether that’s playing games, watching movies, or playing with their friends, while they’re waiting in line for a bus or in the train.
While in real life, we generally don’t have time to sit and consume something; we have to work for it. Mirlo Above the Sun encourages you to spend your time playing the game.
This is how it works, first, you start off with a starting set of options that basically allow you to add or remove things from the game:
You can add your character appearance, style of gameplay (Hack and Slash or Action-Backed), and gameplay setting. Some of these options are mandatory, while others are just choices that allow you to make the character look a little different.

Spooky Nancy Drews to the Rescue (BOO!)
I’ve been looking forward to our Halloween celebrations for weeks. We got in the spirit with baking sugar cookies and watching a spooky movie. Always a fun tradition.
We also made a pumpkin pie with our pumpkin from the garden. It was delicious! We haven’t much to decorate my pumpkin with. So I went outside to do some trick or treating. Jared organized his neighborhood for a walking group while I went to the other side of our street looking for people. I had to pinch myself — I’d looked forward to this all year as we don’t usually get trick or treaters in our neighborhood.
I heard a quick beep and followed the noise.
I peeked around the corner. I got startled when I saw two girls standing by our trash pile. They looked like Spider-Mans to me. They were wearing all black.
As I got closer, I could tell they were girls. Looooooootle coming to poop on my neighbor’s door.
I found a switch to turn on the porch light and got ready to get Nancy Drew’d.
I realized that they were also doing something different, fiddling with something on their uniforms.
